نعرف مصارعة الثيران، ولكن هم سمعتم عن مصارعة الجمال؟

Here the fight is not between a raging camel and a matador like it is in bullfighting. It is between two male camels wrestling infront of the crowding fans, typically in response to winning a female camel that heats the fight. It is a sport most common in the Aegean region of Turkey and some regions of near east Asia.

هذه المصارعة لا تكون بين جمل ثائر والماتدور المصارع كما هي الحال في مصارعة الثيران. إنما بين جملين ذكرين هائجين أمام جماهير المشجعين يتصارعان عادة من أجل ناقة لتزيد من حرارة الصراع بينهما. وهي رياضة أكثر شيوعا في مناطق بحر ايجه في تركيا وفي بعض مناطق الشرق الأدنى من آسيا.

It is believed that camel fighting originated among ancient Turkish tribes over 2,400 years ago. It is known that camels also fight in the wild. Camels fight by using their necks as leverage to force their opponent to fall down. A camel is declared winner if his competitor falls to ground or flees from the fight. Most fighting camels are bred in Iran or Afghanistan.

يعتقد بأن مصارعةالجمال نشأت بين القبائل التركية القديمة منذ أكثر من 2400 سنة . ومن المعروف أن الجمال تتصارع أيضا في البرية. تستخدم الجمال أعناقها في القتال كوسيلة ضغط لاجبار الخصم على السقوط. ويعلن الجمل فائزاً إذا سقط منافسه على الأرض أو هرب من المعركة. تربى معظم جمال المصارعة في إيران أو أفغانستان.

Camel Tournaments in Turkey   مباريات الجمال في تركيا

There are roughly thirty annual festivals in Aegean Turkey each year from November to March. Roughly one hundred fighting camels take part in these events, with each camel competing in approximately ten matches. Events always occur on Sundays in football stadiums and typically last ten minutes each.

هناك ما يقرب من 30 مهرجاناً سنوياً في مناطق بحر ايجه بتركيا من نوفمبر (تشرين الثاني) وحتى مارس (آذار). ويبلغ عدد جمال المصارعة المشاركة في هذه المباريات ما يقرب من 100 ويتنافس كل جمل في حوالي عشر مباريات. وتقام هذه المباريات في أيام الآحاد في ملاعب كرة القدم وتستغرق عادة كل مصارعة تقريباً عشر دقائق.
