By the end of 2018, "Abraj Kudai" will be the world's largest hotel complex with its 10,150 housing units and hotel rooms. It is a colossus complex that is being built 2.2 km south of the Holy Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where over 15 million Muslims each year visit to perform Umrah and Haj. Till recently the "First World Hotel" set high in the clouds in Genting Highlands, near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, held Guinness record as the world's largest with its 6,118 rooms. A record which has been preceded by the MGM Grand's 6,852 rooms in Las Vegas, USA. Few years ago I stayed at the overwhelming "First World Hotel". Due to its huge size, I experienced a very long check-in queue that took me almost 45 minutes. I wonder how check-in timing would be in larger hotels! | في نهاية عام 2018 ستصبح أبراج كدي أكبر مجمع فندقي في العالم يحوي 10,150 وحدة سكنية وغرفة فندقية. وهو مجمع العملاق يتم بناؤه على بعد 2.2 جنوب الحرم المكي الشريف في مكة المكرمة في المملكة العربية السعودية. حيث يأتي ما يقارب 15 مليون مسلم كل عام لأداء العمرة والحج. حتى وقت قريب كان فندق "فرست ورلد هوتيل" المقام داخل السحاب في مرتفعات جنتنغ القريبة من كوالا لمبور في ماليزيا، كان وفق موسوعة غينيس أكبر فندق في العالم بغرفه الـ 6,118. ولكن تجاوزه فندق إم جي إم غراند بغرفه الـ 6,852 في لاس فيغاس بأمريكا. منذ بضعة سنوات مكثت في فندق "فرست ورلد هوتيل" العملاق. ونظرا لحجمه الضخم، فقد واجهني عند وصولي طابور تسجيل طويل جدا استغرق مني حوالي 45 دقيقة. والآن أتساءل كم سيكون مدة انتظار الدخول للغرف! |

فندق فرست ورلد هوتيل في مرتفعات جنتنغ في ماليزيا كان أكبر فندق في العالم عام 2006.
With a total site area of approximately 60,000 m², Abraj Kudai project will have a total built-up area of around 1.4 million m² of a residential and commercial complex that will consists of a large podium topped by 12 towers, 30-45 floors each. Ten out of the twelve towers will provide 4-star accommodation, and two will cater for the affluent clientele providing them with 5-star facilities. The project includes a bus station, a shopping mall, restaurants and food courts, a convention center and car parks. Due to its unparalleled size, height, and architectural style, the towers will be a striking landmark. Abraj Kudai is located at the Manafe area in Makkah's central zone.
