The Poseidon Undersea Resorts in the Fiji islands, is being constructed 40ft (12 m) under the sea in an off-shore lagoon. The luxury resort is set to house 25 suites, a restaurant, bar, gym, and even an underwater wedding chapel. Building works began in 2001, and still not finished. It was due to be opened in 2008 and no one knows when will it be finished and at what cost. The $14,000 per week price tag has not put off enthusiasts from making early reservations. It has an estimated 150,000 potential guests on its waiting list.

The Poseidon Resort is surrounded by a 5,000-acre lagoon and boasts pristine waters abundant sea life. The resort is accessible via a lift from the shore of the island, the resort promises guests pure luxury, each suite boasting a large Jacuzzi and wall-to-ceiling panoramic windows with underwater lights controllable from an inside switch and an external fish feeder, promising eye-popping views of multi-colored marine life.
