في الطبيعة هناك تشابهات مذهلة، وفطر القضيب هو أحدها.

The genus Phallus, belonging to the stinkhorn family of mushrooms (phallaceae), have very distinguished shapes that look like phalluses. They are known for their foul-smelling, sticky spore masses, borne on the end of a stalk. Stacks in all phallaceae species develop from underground "eggs" (balls!!). Some have strong human semen smell, others smell like carrion or dung, to attract flies and other insects to help disperse the spores.

فطر القضيب هو جنس من الفطر ينتمي إلى عائلة القرون النتنة من الفطر (الفالوسيات). شكله مميز جدا لأنه يشبه العضو الذكري. وهو معروف برائحته النتنة، أبواغه تشكل كتلة لزجة محمولة على نهاية القضيب. وفي كل أنواع الفالوسيات ينبت القضيب من "بيض" تحت التراب. بعضه تنبعث منه رائحة قوية تشبه رائحة السائل المنوي البشري، والبعض الآخر رائحة الجيف أو الروث، وذلك لجذب الذباب والحشرات الأخرى للمساعدة على نقل الأبواغ للتكاثر.

The Cannonball Tree is a spectacular tree during flowering season. The whole trunk is covered by fuchsiaflowers. It is a tropical and subtropical tree. The tree got its name from the shape and size of its fruits which resemble cannon balls. The fruit is large, spherical and woody ranging from 15 to 24cm in diameter. A single tree can bear as many as 200 or 300 fruits.
