لا شك بأنك معجب بزهور الأوركيد مثلي، أليس كذلك؟ ولكن انتظر!!.

Do you see the pink insect that mimics the orchid flower? To the right there is an insect that looks exactly like the pink orchid flower. It is the Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus Coronatus) which is found in the rain forests of Southeast Asia. Because of its striking resemblance of pink orchids, unsuspecting preys of small insects land on it thinking it is a flower to meet their deadly fate, without any major effort by the mantis. Orchid mantis live peacefully with orchids and don't harm the plants.

هل ترى الحشرة الوردية اللون التي تماثل زهرة الأوركيد؟ إلى اليمين هناك حشرة تبدو تماما مثل زهرة الأوركيد (السحلبية) الوردية. إنها حشرة سرعوف الأوركيد أو فرس النبي الوردي (علمياً هايمانوبيس كورونيتس) والتي توجد في الغابات المطيرة في جنوب شرق آسيا. ولأن شكلها يشبه بشكل صارخ زهرة الأوركيد فإن الفرائس المطمئنة من الحشرات الصغيرة تهبط عليها معتقدة أنها زهرة لتواجه مصيرها المميت وبدون أي مجهود يذكر من السرعوف. وتعيش هذه الحشرات بسلام مع نبات الأوركيد ولا تضره.
