تشابه مذهل مع وجه القرد، أليس كذلك؟

These rare amazing orchids grow in the cloud forests of southeastern Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 1,000-2,000 meters. They come in different shapes and colors. Some resemble laughing monkeys, some resemble sleepy ones others resemble grinning monkeys.

زهور الأوركيد المذهلة النادرة هذه تنمو في غابات السحاب في جنوب شرق الإكوادور والبيرو على ارتفاعات تتراوح مابين 1000 إلى 2000 متر. وهي تأتي بأشكال وألوان متعددة. بعضها يشبه القرود الضاحكة، وبعضها يشبه القرود الناعسة وبعضها يشبة القرود المكشرة.

Scientifically they are named "Dracula Simia" (or Dracula Orchid). Though it has no relation or resemblance to Dracula, the Dracula (genus) part of its name refers to the unusual attribute of the two long spurs of the sepals, similar of the fangs of a certain Transylvanian count of movie and fiction fame.

ويطلق عليها علميا إسم "دراكولا سميا" (أو أوركيد دراكولا). وعلى الرغم من أنها ليس لها علاقة أو تشابه مع دراكولا، إلا أن كلمة دراكولا (جنس النبتة) والتي هي جزء من اسمها يشير إلى السمة غير العادية للنتوأين الطويلين أسفل أوراقها، والمماثلين لأنياب الشخصية الخيالية المشهورة الكونت دراكولا من ترانسلفانيا في القصص والأفلام.
