Just imagine that we are born with microscopic eyes. Here is part of what we could see: Pubic louse or cancer louse, due to resemblance of ordinary cancer, is an insect that is an obligate ectoparasite of humans, feeding exclusively on blood. It has a short wide body and long legs with hooks. The insect is small in size, with a length of about 1.5-2 mm.

تصوروا لو أننا ولدنا بأعين مجهرية ميكروسكوبية. إليكم جزءا مما قد ترونه: قمل العانة (القُمَّل) أو ما يدعى أيضًا القمل السرطاني لأن مظهره يشبه السرطان، وهي حشرة طفيلية خارجية صغيرة تختص بالإنسان وتتغذى حصرياً على دمه. ولها جسم قصير وعريض، وأرجلها طويلة ذات عقائف، والحشرة صغيرة الحجم إذ يبلغ طولها نحو 1.5-2 مم.

These insects found in the person's pubic hair, perianal area, body hair, beards, mustaches, and in children eyelashes in particular. They are transmitted to others through sexual intercourse, bed-sharing, use of infected clothes, or use of toilets. Their life cycle is very similar to that of hair lice.	تتواجد هذه الحشرات في منطقة العانة وحول الشرج وأشعار الجسم واللحى والشوارب ورموش الأطفال بالذات، وتنتقل إلى الإنسان عن طريق الاقتران الجنسي، أو المشاركة في الفراش أو استخدام ملابس المصاب، أو استعمال المراحيض الإفرنجية. أما دورة حياتها فتشبه إلى حد كبير نظيرتها قمل الرأس.
Current worldwide prevalence has been estimated at 2% of the human population, but accurate numbers are difficult to gauge.	يقدر الانتشار العالمي الحالي بنسبة 2 ٪ من السكان، ولكن يصعب معرفة الأرقام الحقيقية الدقيقة.
