كيف تنشئ تقاطعاً بين مجريين مائيين مختلفين دون خلط مياههما؟

German engineering ingenuity came up with a solution. In 2003, they inagurated a unique water bridge –a water bridge over Elbe river– that connects Berlin's inland harbor with Rhine river ports. The bridge total length is 918 meters, 690 meters are over land and 228 meters are over water.

هنا تجلت براعة الهندسة الألمانية في تقديم الحل. ففي عام 2003 دشنوا جسراً مائياً فريداً من نوعه -جسر ماء فوق مياه نهر إلبه- يربط ميناء برلين الداخلي مع موانئ نهر الراين. ويبلغ طول الجسر 918 متراً، 690 متراً منها تمر فوق اليابسة و 228 متراً تمر فوق الماء.

The idea to build the bridge originated in 1870, that is 143 years ago. The project was initiated in 1920, but was postponed due to the First and Second World Wars and Germany division. After the unification of Germany in 1990, construction was reinitiated in 1997 and was completed six in October 2003 at a cost of more than half a billion Euros.

نشأت فكرة بناء الجسر في عام 1870 أي قبل 143 سنة. وبدأ العمل في المشروع في عام 1920، ولكن تم تأجيله بسبب الحربين العالميتين الأولى والثانية ثم بسبب تقسيم ألمانيا. ولما تم توحيد ألمانيا في 1990 عاد العمل في المشروع من جديد في عام 1997 واكتمل في أكتوبر 2003 بتكلفة أكثر من نصف مليار يورو.
