The retractable canopies create the effect of a translucent vault, providing protection to over 200,000 worshipers from the scorching heat. The 250 collapsible canopies are erected on lamp pillars covering an area of 106,000 m2 in the external courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia. They are opened and closed simultaneously by a computerized system. Each 25x25 m canopy is equipped with flood drainage system and lighting. They are made of nonflammable Teflon fabric that resists harsh weather conditions and ultraviolet rays. | وقد أقيمت 250 مظلة قابلة للطوي على أعمدة إنارة بحيث تغطي مساحة قدرها 106 ألف متر مربع من الساحات الخارجية للمسجد النبوي في المدينة المنورة في المملكة العربية السعودية. يتم فتح وإغلاق المظلات في وقت واحد من خلال نظام محوسب. وكل مظلة تغطي مساحة 25×25 متر ومجهزة بالإضاءة وبنظام لصرف مياه الفيضانات. وهي مصنوعة من قماش تفلون غير قابل للاشتعال يقاوم الظروف الجوية القاسية والأشعة فوق البنفسجية. |
