Spaghetti ice cream is only one variety of ice creams.

آيس كريم على شكل سباغيتي هو صنف واحد من أصناف مختلفة من الآيس كريم.

Many many years ago before the Euro, on the roads near Gelnhausen east of Frankfurt - Germany we noticed many shops carry the green-white-red flag (Italian) and have "Eis" (German for Ice Cream) signs. Stopping at one of them to quench our summer thirst, we noticed that the menu included among others, spaghetti eis, pizza eis, lasagna eis and volcano eis. Curious to find out what are they, we ordered spaghetti and volcano. I stood to watch the seller preparing our order. For the spaghetti he pressed a mass of vanilla ice cream into a machine similar to meat grinder. Then he used syrups and other sweets to decorate the spaghetti ice cream dish. Volcano was easier, he molded the brownish ice cream and topped it with dark chocolate syrup to simulate poring lava and then added little liquid into a small pit he made on top and ignited it. To find out of Germans still have Italian Eis as they were during the Mark era I searched the net and found the following photos.

قبل اليورو بسنوات عديدة، شاهدنا على الطرق بالقرب من بلدة غيلنهاوسن شرق مدينة فرانكفورت الألمانية عدداً من الدكاكين تحمل الراية الخضراء والبيضاء والحمراء (الايطالية) وعليها لوحات كتب عليها "Eis" (بالألمانية تعني آيس كريم). فتوقفنا عند أحدها لإخماد حرارة الصيف في جوفنا، لاحظنا أن قائمة الطعام شملت من بين الأصناف الأخرى، سباغيتي آيس كريم وبيتزا آيس كريم ولازانيا آيس كريم وآيس كريم البركان. اجتاحنا الفضول لمعرفة ما هي فطلبنا السباغيتي والبركان. وقفت أشاهد بائع وهو يحضر طلبنا. ولصنع آيس كريم السباغيتي قام بتمرير كتلة من آيس كريم الفانيلا عبر جهاز يشبه فرامة اللحمة ثم وضع شراباً أحمر و شذرات من السكريات لتزيين السباغيتي. أما آيس كريم البركان فكان أسهل، إذ قولب الآيس كريم البني الفاتح وسكب شراب الشوكولاتة الغامقة لمحاكاة الحمم المندفقة ثم أضاف قليلا من سائل في فجوة صغيرة خلقها على رأس البركان وأشعلها. ولمعرفة فيما إذا كان لا يزال لدى الألمان محلات مماثلة تبيع الآيس كريم الايطالي كما كانت أيام المارك الألماني، قمت بالبحث في الإنترنت ووجدت الصور التالية.
