Whatever you call it: a tuffet, pouffe, pouf, or hassock; it is a piece of furniture used as a footstool or low seat. It is distinguished from a stool or ottoman in that it is completely covered in cloth so that no legs are visible, and is essentially a large relatively hard cushion. Designers are creative in making poufs that are very attractive to a point that they may overtake other pieces of furniture. One of the most artistic pouf designers is the Spanish Woouf company.
