In December 2012, according to Huffington Post, archaeologists in Mexico discovered a burial site south of Sonora, where 13 out of the 25 unearthed skeletons have elongated skulls. Could they possibly belong to aliens? Why aliens land in Mexico? In Peru? In Africa? Etc.?

According to Cristina Garcia Moreno, the leader of the Sorano discovery team: Cranial deformation in Mesoamerican cultures was used to differentiate one social group from another. In the old days, it was believed that a person with an elongated head was more intelligent, and closer to the spirit world. This form of permanent mutilation was often started at infants while the bones of the skull are easier to modify. Babies heads were wrapped in cloth and in many cases flattened with the pressure with wooden planks.

Intentional human cranial deformation is believed to predate written history. The earliest was the ninth millennium BC skull from Shanidar Cave in Iraq, preceding ancient Egyptians of the third millennium BC.
