This is what the near future technology is hiding for you. Printing your dream house direct from the drawing to the site in less than a day!!! All what you need is to design your dream house using a design software and a connection to a massive 3D printer. This is exactly what the Chinese WinSun Decoration Design Engineering Co. have done in December 2013. They printed 10 homes, on site, in 24 hours out of recycled materials in Shanghai's Qingpu district. The 3-D printer used to build the houses is 152m long, 10m wide and 6.6m high. The "ink" it used is based on high-grade cement and glass fiber. Like traditional 3D printers, the system carefully spills out those materials layer by layer, consistently building upward. This isn't the first attempt at 3-D printing large structures in a short amount of time. The University of Southern California tested a giant 3D printer that could be used to build a whole house in under 24 hours. Parts were made offsite then assembled onsite. NASA gave a grant to University of Southern California to use the technology to work on designing structures that can be built on the moon and other planets that could one day be colonized by humans. In Amsterdam earlier this year, construction of a 3D-printed house began.
