سمكة الضفدع المشعرة لا تسبح. إنما تمشي على زعانفها العريضة على ارض قاع البحر!!

The hairy frogfish is a type of fish that's covered in spines resembling strands of hair, allowing it to camouflage itself against coral and seaweed. Contrary to most fish they don't swim. Instead they walk on their wide fins along the seafloor as they look for snacks to eat.

أسماك الضفادع المشعرة هو نوع من الأسماك المغطاة بأشواك.تشبه خيوط الشعر، تسمح لها بالتخفي ضمن المرجان والأعشاب البحرية. وعلى عكس معظم الأسماك فهي لا تسبح وإنما تمشي على زعانفها على أرض قاع البحر باحثة عن طعامها.

Found mostly in warm waters around the world. The only waters these fish are not found in are the Mediterranean and the Arctic.

وهي توجد في الغالب في المياه الدافئة حول العالم. والمياه الوحيدة التي لا توجد فيها هذه الأسماك هي البحر الأبيض المتوسط والقطب الشمالي.

Spines resembling hair, allowing to camouflage itself against coral and seaweeds.

أشواك تشبه خيوط الشعر، تسمح لها بالتخفي ضمن المرجان والأعشاب البحرية.

The first dorsal spine, tips forward, like a fishing rod. Its tip has a characteristic worm-like lure which, when waved, attracts unsuspecting prey.

أول عظام العمود الفقري لديها، يتجه للأمام وكأنه صنارة صيد. وطرفه يشبه الدودة للإغواء والتي عند تلويحها تجذب الفرائس المطمئنة.

أول عظام العمود الفقري لديها، يتجه للأمام وكأنه صنارة صيد. وطرفه يشبه الدودة.

Frogfish have the capacity to change color to blend in with its surroundings. It takes only a few weeks to adapt. The dominant coloration varies from yellow to brownish-orange, but it can also be green, gray, brown, almost white, or even completely black without any pattern.

ويمكن لأسماك الضفادع المشعرة أن تغيير لونها ليتناسب مع المنطقة المحيطة، وتستغرق بضعة أسابيع فقط للتكيف. ويختلف اللون السائد من الأصفر إلى البرتقالي المائل إلى البني ولكن يمكن أن يكون أيضًا أخضر أو رمادي أو بني أو أبيض تقريبًا أو حتى أسود تمامًا بدون أي نقش.

The striated frogfish or hairy frogfish, grows up to 22 cm long.

يصل طول سمكة الضفدع المخططة أو سمكة الضفدع المشعر إلى 22 سم.

The frogfish are dependent on coral reefs to blend in and prey on smaller fish.

تعتمد أسماك الضفادع المشعرة على الشعاب المرجانية لتندمج بها وتتخفى وتفترس الأسماك الأصغر.
