في تايلاند تجد تاكسيات بجميع الألوان، فاختر اللون الذي يعجبك!

As soon as I stepped out of the Bangkok's airport terminal, I couldn't prevent my surprise. Unlike the rest of the world, taxis come in a full range of colors. There are pink taxis, violet taxis, purple taxis, orange taxis, bright green taxes, bright sky blue, yellow taxis and many other variations and combinations. Taxis are abundant in Bangkok so you will not find any difficulty selecting the color you like. What attracted my attention most inside the taxis are the icons on the window sticker listing forbidden acts inside!! (See for yourself, especially the one forbidding making love inside!!)

بمجرد خروجي من صالة مطار بانكوك، لم أستطع منع دهشتي. فخلافا لبقية العالم، تجد سيارات الأجرة (التاكسي) بجميع ألوان الطيف. فهناك سيارات وردية وسيارات بنفسجية وسيارات أرجوانية وسيارات برتقالية وسيارات خضراء زاهية وسيارات زرقاء كلون السماء المشرق وسيارات صفراء وكذلك سيارات متعددة الألوان ومزيج من هذا وذاك. سيارات الأجرة في بانكوك وفيرة ولن تجد صعوبة في اختيارك سيارة باللون الذي يعجبك. وأكثر ما لفت انتباهي داخل سيارات الأجرة الرموز المطبوعة على اللاصقات الموجودة على النوافذ والتي توضح الأفعال المحظورة داخل السيارة!! (انظروا بأنفسكم وخاصة الرمز الخاص بمنع ممارسة الجماع!!)

Bangkok's obsession for color goes beyond taxis and buses. The Thais have different colors for each day of the week. Sunday is red, Monday is yellow, Tuesday is pink, Wednesday is green (day) and grey (night), Thursday is orange, Friday is blue, and Saturday is purple. These colors are considered lucky and are celebrated as birthday colors. Even politics in Thailand are color oriented. Demonstrations and protesters are characterized by colored shirts.

هاجس الألوان في بانكوك لا يقتصر على سيارات الأجرة والحافلات. فعند التايلانديين لون خاص بكل يوم من أيام الأسبوع: فيوم الاحد هو أحمر ويوم الاثنين هو أصفر ويوم الثلاثاء هو وردي والأربعاء أخضر (في النهار) ورمادي (في الليل) والخميس برتقالي ويوم الجمعة أزرق والسبت أرجواني. وتعتبر هذه الألوان جالبة للحظ فاحتفالات أعياد الميلاد للأفراد تتلون بهذه الألوان. حتى أن السياسة في تايلاند لها منحى لوني. إذ تتميز المظاهرات والمتظاهرين بقمصان ملونة مختلفة وفق كل فئة.

I guess girls would prefer pink, purple, fuchsia and violet sort of taxis.

أعتقد أن البنات سيفضلن السيارات الوردية أو البنفسجية أو الأرجوانية أو الفوشيا.

Bangkok's colored transportation isn't limited to just taxis; the buses are colored too.

ألألوان ليست مقصورة في بانكوك على سيارات الأجرة (التاكسي) وإنما حافلاتهم ملونة أيضاً.
