Last December, during a vacation I had in Malaysia, while walking at the third floor of Sungai Wang Plaza in Kuala Lumpur. Toilet seats and sinks covered with glass in the food court caught my attention. Initially I thought they could be related to a sanitary ware company. But looking closely I discovered that they are a section of a nearby restaurant called T-Bowel (Toilet Bowel) Restaurant?!! What?? Yes! Customers are sitting on toilet seats to dining tables made of basins eating from miniature toilet bowls and drinking from miniature urinals. The restaurant theme is toilets decorated with showers, urinals, bathtub and the sort.
في ديسمبر الماضي، و خلال عطلتي في ماليزيا، وحين كنت أمشي في الطابق الثالث من سونجاى وانغ بلازا في كوالا لمبور. لفت انتباهي مقاعد مراحيض وأحواضٌ مغطاة بالزجاج في ساحة المطاعم. اعتقدت في البداية أنها قد تكون لشركة أدوات صحية. ولكن بالنظر عن كثب اكتشفت أنها جزء من مطعم قريب يسمى مطعم "تي باول" أي وعاء المرحاض؟! ماذا؟؟ نعم!؟ الزبائن يجلسون على مقاعد المراحيض وطاولات الطعام مصنوعة من أحواض المغاسل ويأكلون من صحون على شكل مراحيض مصغرة ويشربون من مباول مصغرة. سمة المطعم هي المراحيض فهو مزينٌ بمباول ومرشات وحوض استحمام وما شابهه.
Searching the net I found out that there are five different restaurant and chains in the world that have the similar toilet theme. Three of them originated in east Asia and two in Europe. The Asian toilet restaurants are a Taiwanese chain called "Modern Toilet" a Malaysian Chain called "T-Bowel" and a Chinese called "House of Boo Boo" located in Beijing. The two European toilet restaurants are the Portuguese "W'Duck" and the German "Das Klo".
وبالبحث في الإنترنت وجدت أن هناك خمسة مطاعم، بعضها سلاسل، في العالم لها سمة المراحيض. ثلاثة منهم في شرق أسيا واثنين في أوروبا. مطاعم التواليت الآسيوية هي سلسة تايوانية اسمها "المرحاض الحديث"، وسلسة ماليزية اسمها "وعاء المرحاض" ومطعم "بيت البو بو" في بكين. والمطعمين الأوروبيين هما البرتغالي "دبليو دك" والألماني "داس كلو".
Malaysian "T-Bowel" Restaurant Chain سلسلة مطاعم "وعاء المرحاض" الماليزية
According to "T-Bowl" (Toilet Bowl) site, the restaurant was first established in 2008 in Penang, Malaysia. The founder, Samuel came with the idea while he was sitting on a toilet bowl one day. Now T-bowel has four branches in Malaysia, one of them is in the Kuala Lumpur which is the one I have seen.
وفقا لموقع مطعم (وعاء المرحاض) فقد تأسس أول فرع له في عام 2008 في بينانغ، ماليزيا. وقد جاءت فكرة المطعم لمؤسسه صموئيل ذات يوم بينما كان يجلس على مقعد المرحاض. ولديه الآن أربعة فروع في ماليزيا، واحد منها في كوالالمبور وهو الذي رأيته.

The chain of Modern Toilets started in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and now has 12 branches in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The owner Wang Tzi-Wei opened Modern Toilet after the success of his ice cream shop that sold swirls of ice cream served in mini toilets.

It is a little toilet themed restaurant called, bian bian man wu fan tang, literally meaning "Poo Poo Filled House Diner"; located in central Beijing. The restaurant greets customers with smiley-faced turds (excrements). Those wanting to avoid the excrement-like dishes can find more conventionally presented spaghetti, fried rice, and salads.

German "Das KLO" bar & restaurant بار و مطعم "داس كلو" الألماني
One strange but famous restaurant in Berlin, Germany is called 'Das Klo' (German for 'The toilet'). The restaurant uses toilet paper instead of napkins, glass urinals bottles for drinking bear and potties for food. This in addition to vintage potties hanging from ceiling. The strangest thing is it has been there for almost 40 years. Unlike other toilet themed restaurants it gives visitors the feel of stepping onto an Indiana Jones movie. Prepare to be shocked - expect red wine in blood transfusion packs, electric shocks from tables, rotating bar stools, a hammer that comes down unexpectedly, and a bird spider, boa constrictor and iguana. It's an attack on the senses - upon entering Klo you'll be sprinkled by water, spooked by skeletons and a gust of air might blow ladies' skirts up. Lightning flashes across the rooms and there is a false ceiling of paper mâché rocks that fall in a giant avalanche every 10 minutes.
