Sun is not exactly what we see and feel, romantic, provides warmth and light. Despite its serene appearance, sun is scorching hot. The energy produced from the Sun is so strong that every second its core releases the equivalent of 100 billion nuclear bombs. Sun's surface is a busy place. The relatively cool dark regions have temperatures of thousands of degrees Celsius. The bright glowing gas flowing around the sunspots has a temperature of over one million degrees Celsius. The eruptions are like huge mega volcanoes.

الشمس ليست بالضبط ما نراه من الرومانسية والدفء والضوء. فعلى الرغم من مظهرها الهادئ فإنها ملتهبة حارقة، فالطاقة التي تنتجها الشمس قوية جدا، ففي كل ثانية تطلق نواة الشمس ما يعادل 100 بليون قنبلة نووية. سطح الشمس مكان يغلي بالحركة. المناطق المظلمة في الصور هي باردة نسبيا ودرجات حرارة هذه المناطق هي بآلاف الدرجات المئوية. أما الغاز المتوهجة المتدفقة حول البقع الشمسية فحرارته تزيد عن مليون درجة مئوية. وهذه أشبه بانفجارات بركانية عملاقة.
