The Flying Duck Orchid (or caleana major) is a small orchid that has a flower resembling a duck in flight. The flower is small reddish-brown, 15 to 20 mm long and works as an attractant to insects for pollination. The plant is up to 50 cm tall and has 2-4 flowers on the green stem and a single leaf near the base of the stalk. It is found in eucalyptus woodland in coastal or swampy areas in eastern and southern Australia.
