How did life come back to Vincent van Gogh's cut ear after 127 years?

The famous ear was chopped off by van Gogh himself, in 1888, and delivered to a brothel in which he was a regular at. Using a sophisticated 3D bioprinter, and computer software, Diemut Strebe, a German artist, printed a 3D replica of the painter's actual ear using real living human cells from Lieuwe van Gogh, the great great-grandson of the famous painter, who shares 1/16th of the same genes of his great grandfather. Believe it or not, the ear is technically alive. The original plan was to use actual DNA, extracted from an envelope that Vincent Van Gogh had licked, but the DNA turned out not to be his. The alive ear is on display at the ground floor of the Media Museum in Germany. The ear can theoretically be kept alive for years because of the nutrient solution which feeds its cells. (Source)

الأذن المقطوعة الشهيرة قطعها فان غوخ بنفسه عام 1888 وأعطها إلى بيت للدعارة كان يتردد عليه. باستخدام طابعات بيولوجية مجسمة ومتطورة وبرامج كمبيوتر، قامت الفنانة الألمانية ديموت ستريب بطباعة مجسمة لأذن تماثل الأذن الفعلية للرسام المشهور باستخدام خلايا بشرية حية حقيقية أخذت من لوي فان جوخ، إبن حفيد الرسام الشهير، والذي يحمل 1/16 من جينات والد جده. صدقوا أو لا تصدقوا، هذه الأذن هي على قيد الحياة من الناحية البيولوجية. وكانت الخطة الأصلية أن يستخدم الحمض النووي الأصلي، المستخرجة من مغلف بريدي لحس فنسنت فان جوخ صمغه لإغلاقه، ولكن وجد أن الحمض النووي ليس له. وتعرض الأذن الحية في الطابق الأرضي من متحف وسائل الإعلام في ألمانيا. ويمكن نظريا للأذن أن تظل حية لعدة سنوات بسبب المحلول المغذي الذي يغذي خلاياها. Vincent Willem van Gogh (born in 1853) was a major Post-Impressionist Dutch painter whose work had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. He sold only one painting during his lifetime (Red Vineyard at Arles; Pushkin Museum, Moscow), and was little known to the art world at the time of his death, but his fame grew rapidly thereafter. All of his work were produced during the last 10 years of his life, hauntingly conveys through its striking color, coarse brushwork, and contoured forms; the anguish of a mental illness. Among his masterpieces are numerous self-portraits. Between 1888 and early 1889 van Gogh painted more than 200 canvases in 15 months. In May 1889 he went into an asylum at St Rémy. During the last 70 days of his life he painted 70 canvases. But his spiritual anguish and depression became more acute that eventually resulted in suicide by a gun in 1890. (Source)

كان الرسام الهولندي فينسنت ويليم فان غوخ (الذي ولد في 1853) رساما أساسياً لما بعد الانطباعية إذ كان له تأثير بعيد المدى على الأعمال الفنية في القرن العشرين. وقد باع فقط لوحة واحدة خلال حياته (الكروم الحمراء في آرل، وهي الآن في متحف بوشكين، موسكو)، وكان غير معروف بشيء يذكر في عالم الفن وقت وفاته، ولكن ذاعت شهرته سريعاً بعد ذلك. جميع أعماله أنجزها خلال السنوات العشر الأخيرة من حياته، وكانت محملة وبشكل جلي وذلك من خلال الألوان وضربات الفرشاة الخشنة والأشكال بالمعاناة المرضية والنفسية. ومن بين روائعه العديدة رسوم ذاتية لشخصه. وقد رسم فان غوخ خلال 15 شهراً ما بين 1888 و بداية 1889 أكثر من 200. وفي مايو 1889 ذهب بنفسه إلى مصحة عقلية في سانت ريمي. وخلال آخر 70 يوما من حياته رسم 70 لوحة. إلا أن الألم النفسي والاكتئاب أصبحا أكثر حدة مما أدى في نهاية المطاف إلى انتحار بمسدس في عام 1890.
