هذه ليست سجادة أو قماش مفروشات ولكنها قصة شعر جمل.

Every year, in January, the desert city of Bikaner, in India's state of Rajasthan, hosts one of the most colorful events in the world – the Bikaner Camel Festival. The event draws thousands of visitors. It begins with the procession of beautifully decorated camels, a competition for best decorated camel, camel milking and the best camel hair cut. Next day, the fleetest camels of the region take part in the camel races.

في كل عام، وفي شهر يناير (كانون الثاني) تستضيف مدينة بيكانر الصحراوية في ولاية راجستان في الهند واحدة من أكثر الأحداث ألواناً في العالم – ألا وهو مهرجان بيكانير للجِمال. وهذا الحدث يستقطب آلاف الزوار. وتبدأ الإحتفالات بموكب من الجمال مزينة بشكل جميل يتبعه مسابقة لأفضل الجمال المزينة ثم لحلب الإبل وأفضل قص الشعر. وفي اليوم التالي، تتنافس أفضل جمال المنطقة في سباقات الهجن.

Preparing camel's hair for the competition may take up to three years to create. First, the hair needs to be grown for two years. Then the hair is trimmed into intricate patterns and dyed for the dramatic effect. This colorful cultural event is organized by the Department of Tourism of the Rajasthan Government.

يستغرق إعداد شعر الإبل للمنافسة فترة قد تصل الى ثلاث سنوات. إذ يحتاج أولاً وبر الإبل لمدة عامين للنمو. بعدها يتم قصه بأشكال وأنماط معقدة ويصبغ لإعطاء التأثير المناسب. وتقوم دائرة السياحة في حكومة راجستان بتنظيم هذا الحدث الثقافي المتنوع.
