A Chinese young man named Xiao Fan requested a gift dress of 9,999 red roses to be made on Valentine's Day for his girlfriend before asking her for marriage. His girlfriend, Yin Mi, is Miss Bikini in Guangzhou.

طلب شاب صيني يدعى شياو فان صنع ثوباً من 9,999 وردة حمراء قدمه كهدية في عيد الحب إلى صديقته قبل أن يطلب يدها للزواج. صديقته هذه، يين مي، هي ملكة البيكيني فى مدينة قوانغتشو.

The number nine represents 'forever' in Chinese culture. In Beijing's Forbidden City - the most well-preserved imperial palace in China - the emperor is said to have requested 9,999 rooms to be built. According to legend the number 10,000 was reserved for gods, therefore the emperor believed the number 9,999 would take him closer to gods.

يمثل الرقم تسعة في الثقافة الصينية "الأبدية". وفي المدينة المحرمة فى بكين – وهو أكثر القصور الإمبراطورية احتفاظاً بشكله - قيل أن الإمبراطور طلب أن تبنى له 9,999 غرفة. إذ وفقا للأسطورة الصينية فإن الرقم 10,000 هو حكرٌ على الآلهة لذلك اعتقد الامبراطور أن الرقم 9,999 سيجعله قريباً من الآلهة.
