3- Baboons Monkeys   ـ3- قردة البابون

Baboons have harems   قرود البابون لها حريم

In the baboon world, males have their pick of females. In fact, they have harem-style living situations in which many females share the company of one male.

في عالم قرد البابون، يختار الذكر إناثهُ (حريمه). وفي الواقع لديهم طرق معيشية على غرار الحريم حيث تتشارك فيها العديد من الإناث في ذكر واحد.

Older male baboons gang up on young males.

يتكاتف كبار السن من ذكور البابون ضد الذكور الشباب.

Male olive baboons have come up with an easier method of asserting dominance: gangs. Older males form coalitions in order to prevent younger males from mating with a fertile female.

توصل ذكور قرد البابون إلى أسهل طريقة لتأكيد هيمنتهم: ألا وهي العصابات. إذ يشكل الذكور الأكبر سنًا تحالفات من أجل منع الذكور الأصغر سنًا من التزاوج مع أنثى خصبة.

Baboons don't just take things to the next level lightly. Baboons are known to form mating "consortships," wherein the male and female mate continuously and spend time together outside of copulation.

قرود البابون لا تنقل العلاقات إلى المستوى التالي باستخفاف. فمن المعروف أن البابون يشكل "ارتباطات" للتزاوج، حيث يتزاوج الذكر والأنثى باستمرار ويقضيان وقتًا معًا قبل العلاقة الدائمة.

4- Gorillas   ـ4- الغوريلا

Mature male gorillas, called silver backs, are huge (up to 200kg, sometimes even more). A silverback lives in a troop of 5 up to 30 females, with which he mates all year long. There is little competition for females, since a large silverback is scary and can easily protect its group from challengers. But on the downside its penis is about 4cm long!!

ذكور الغوريلا الراشدة، والتي تسمى سلفرباك أو الظهر الفضي، ضخمة الحجم (يصل وزنها إلى 200 كجم وأحيانًا أكثر) ويعيش الذكر مع مجموعة من 5 إلى 30 أنثى، حيث يتزاوج معها طوال العام وليس هناك إلا القليل من المنافسة بالنسبة للإناث، حيث أن الظهر الفضي الكبير ذو هيبة مخيفه ويمكنه بسهولة حماية مجموعته من المنافسين. ولكن الجانب السلبي يكمن في طول القضيب الذي هو حوالي 4 سم!!

Female gorillas are fertile for 3 days at most per month.

أنثى الغوريلا تكون خصبة لمدة 3 أيام على الأكثر كل شهر.

Unlike other primates like chimpanzees, female gorillas have a pretty limited window of time when they are able to reproduce. They are fertile for 1-3 days per month, which isn't much time, especially for all the male gorillas waiting around for it.

خلافا للرئيسيات الأخرى مثل الشمبانزي، فإن إناث الغوريلا لديها فترة زمنية محدودة جدًا عندما تكون قادرة على الإنجاب مدتها من 1-3 أيام في الشهر، وهذا ليس وقتًا طويلاً، خاصة بالنسبة لجميع ذكور الغوريلا التي تنتظرها.

5- Spider monkeys   ـ5- القردة العنكبوتية

Male and female spider monkeys can't stand each other.

ذكور وإناث القردة العنكبوتية لا يطيقون بعضهم البعض.

They exhibit vastly different behavior and simply cannot get along; males often act aggressive and dominant when around females. So, the solution to all the fighting is to separate the genders.

كلاهما له سلوك مختلف إلى حد كبير عن الآخر وببساطة لا يمكنهما التوافق؛ فغالبًا ما يتصرف الذكور بشكل عدواني ومسيطر عند وجودهم حول الإناث. لذا فإن الحل الكامل لمنع القتال هو الفصل بين الجنسين.

Spider monkeys are wily creatures, and they have some very particular strategies for ensuring reproduction. One unusual trait is their preference for private copulation. The mating monkeys will go to a private place away from other mature males to insure no competition.

قرود العنكبوت مخلوقات ماكرة، ولديها بعض الاستراتيجيات الخاصة لضمان التكاثر. إحدى السمات غير العادية هي تفضيلهم للجماع ذو الخصوصية. إذ تذهب القرود للجماع في مكان خاص بعيدًا عن الذكور الراشدين. وذلك لضمان عدم المنافسة.

6- Chimpanzees   ـ6- قردة الشمبانزي

In a very refreshing reversal, male chimpanzees have been found to prefer older females. This has a biological basis; female chimps do not go through menopause, meaning that there is no scientific reason why young females would be preferable.

في انعكاس مدهش للغاية، وجد أن ذكور الشمبانزي تفضل الإناث الأكبر سنًا. ولهذا أساس بيولوجي إذ لا تمر إناث الشمبانزي بمرحلة سن اليأس، مما يعني أنه لا يوجد سبب علمي لتفضيل الشابات.

7- Capuchin monkeys   ـ7- قردة الكبوشين

Male Capuchin monkeys urinate in their hands before rubbing the liquid all over their body as a perfume. Scientists, who have been baffled by the behavior for years, now believe the smell is attractive to females, conveying the male monkey's social or sexual status.

تتبول ذكور قردة الكبوشين في أيديها قبل فرك البول على جميع أنحاء جسمها،لتتعطر. يعتقد العلماء، الذين حيرهم هذا السلوك لسنوات عديدة، أن الرائحة جذابة للإناث، وأنها تبين الحالة الاجتماعية أو الجنسية للقرد الذكر.

8- Orangutans   ـ8- قردة إنسان الغاب

Not all male orangutans are alike   ليست كل ذكور إنسان الغاب (الأورانجوتان) متشابهة

If you've ever wondered why some orangutans look like they slammed their head into a wall, this is for you. There are two types of mature male orangutans: flanged and unflanged. Flanged males seems have certain sex characteristics that are not in the unflanged ones which makes them preferable to females.

إذا كنت قد تساءلت يومًا عن سبب أشكال وجوه بعض قردة إنسان الغاب وكأنها خبطت وجوهها في حائط، فخذ هذه المعلومة هناك نوعان من وجوه ذكور الأورانجوتان الراشدة: الوجوه ذات الحواف والوجه التي لا حواف لها ويبدو أن الذكور ذووي الحواف لها خصائص جنسية معينة لا يملكها الذكور الذين بلا حواف تجعل الإناث يفضلنهم.

9- Proboscis Monkeys   ـ9- قردة الململة ذات الخرطوم

Young proboscis monkeys harass males during mating.

صغار قرود الململة تضايق الذكور أثناء التزاوج.

Juvenile proboscis monkeys will often harass and try to interrupt males as they mount females. It's not particularly threatening, but it's their way of saying "gross."

غالبًا ما تضايق صغار القرود ذات الخرطوم التنظير الذكور وتحاول مقاطعتها أثناء ركوبها للإناث. وهذا ليس تهديدًا بالمعنى الصحيح، ولكنه طريقة لقولهم "فظيع".
