Pitcher plants or monkey cups (Nepenthes) are carnivorous plants. They mostly are insect eaters, but larger pitchers can eat rats, lizards and frogs. Their prey-trapping mechanism features a deep cavity filled with liquid. Foraging, flying or crawling insects are attracted by the sweet nectar and visual lures into the cavity formed by the cupped leaf. The sides of the pitcher are slippery and may be grooved in such a way so as to ensure that the insects cannot climb out. They drown the insect, and the body of it is gradually dissolved by enzymes or bacteria. The prey items are converted into a solution of amino acids, peptides, phosphates, ammonium and urea, from which the plant obtains its mineral nutrition.

According to BBC News, a shop in Covent Garden, in London, UK, is selling "Baby Gaga" ice cream made of human breast milk. The maker says it is pure, organic and totally natural.

Restaurants in Switzerland and China have reportedly served dishes featuring mom's breast milk to create sauces and soups. According to BBC News, a restaurant in southern Hunan province of China has started offering dishes cooked with human breast milk taken from local peasants.
