هذه الزهرة تبدو رائعة لو كانت قابلة للأكل. فما رأيكم؟ إفطار جاهز من الطبيعة!

A Facebook friend forwarded a set of photos of a plant claiming that when fully open, its flowers resemble sunny-side up fried eggs! The friend praised the creator and cited a verse form Quran; "Such is the Creation of Allah, now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created".

أرسل أحد أصدقاء الفيسبوك مجموعة صور عن نبات يدعون أنه عندما تتفتح زهوره تماما فإنها تشبه البيض المقلي على شكل عيون! ثم يشيد ناشر الصور بالخالق العظيم ويستشهد بآية من القرآن الكريم "هَٰذَا خَلْقُ اللَّهِ فَأَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقَ الَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِ".

All the above pictures are for what is called Ornamental Eggplant or Easter Egg Plant (Scientifically: Solanum ovigerum). Which is a variation of the known normal eggplant. The flower of this plant is not a sunny-side up fried egg as you see. The flower is as shown below. The sunny-side up egg flower is fake, it was one of the entries in an Advanced Photoshop Contest held by Freaking News.

جميع الصور أعلاه هي لما يسمى باذنجان الزينة أو نبات بيض عيد الفصح (علميا: سولانوم أوفيجيروم). وهو نوعية من الباذنجان العادي المعروف. أما زهرة هذا النبات فهي ليست بشكل البيض المقلي عيون كما هو ترون. إذ أن زهوره كما هو واضح أدناه. أما صورة زهرة البيض المقلي عيون فهي صورة مفبركة وهي أحدى المشاركات في منافسة الفوتوشوب المتقدمة والتي يقوم بها موقع فريكينغ نيوز.

My problem with people that publish such fake pictures, is not the appraisal of the creator or the citations; the problem is that use Quran verses to support their fake alleged claims, an act that I hate. I urge all my friends not to forward similar posts without verification and checking its source.

مشكلتي مع من ينشرون مثل هذه الصور الملفقة ليست في الإشادة بالخالق العظيم ولا في الاستشهاد بالآيات القرآنية وإنما في استخدام الآيات القرآنية لدعم مزاعمهم المزيفة، وهو عمل أكرهه. وأنا أرجو جميع أصدقائي أن لا يتداولوا مثل هذه الصور دون التدقيق والتأكد من مصادرها.
