Magnificent Scenery Atop Langkawi's Sky Bridgeمناظر رائعة من فوق جسر السماء في لانكاوي

Two years ago, I spent few days in Pulau Langkawi, an island in the Langkawi archipelago, Malaysia. In addition to its great beaches, there is one tourist attraction located at the peak of Gunung Mat Chinchang mountain. It is a 125 meters curved pedestrian bridge, suspended by steel cable from a single 82 meter high pylon and hangs at about 100 meters above ground.

قبل عامين قضيت بضعة أيام في جزيرة بولاو لانكاوي إحدى جزر أرخبيل لانكاوي بماليزيا. وهناك بالإضافة إلى شواطئها الرائعة منطقة جذب سياحية تقع عند قمة جبل جونونج مات شينشانغ وهي جسر للمشاة منحني طوله 125 متراً ومعلق في الهواء على علو 100 متر عن سطح الأرض بكابلات حديدية مشدودة إلى برج معدني واحد فقط ارتفاعه 82 متراً.

The sky bridge can be reached by riding the two-stage cable car which begins at the Oriental Village at the foot hill of the Machincang mountain range. The bridge was completed in 2004. Constructing it was not an easy feat. All elements of the bridge were lifted to the top of the mountain by helicopters and then assembled there to its current position. Being suspended from a single pylon puts it among the world's strangest suspension bridges.

ويتم الوصول إلى جسر السماء بركوب التلفريك (العربات المعلقة) ذو المرحلتين والذي ينطلق من محطته الأولى عند قرية سياحية أطلق عليها القرية الشرقية تقع عند سفح سلسلة جبال ماشينكانج. وقد أنجز جسر السماء المعلق هذا في عام 2004. ولم يكن بناؤه سهلاً إذ تم رفع جميع مكونات الجسر إلى أعلى الجبل بطائرات هليكوبتر ثم تم تجميعه بعد ذلك في موقعه الحالي. ولكونه معلقاً ببرج واحد فإنه يعتبر من أغرب الجسور المعلقة في العالم.
