China's first underground five-star hotel will be built attached to the wall of a 100 meter deep pit near Sheshan Hill, in Shanghai's Songjiang District. Once completed, this luxury resort will have 16 floors in the pit and 3 floors above it. The complex will have around 380 rooms, conference facilities, underwater restaurants, cafés, sports facilities, spa rooms and so on. A 60-meter glass curtain will be built to mimic a waterfall next to the resort's main structure. The lowest 20 meters are filled with rainwater that form a lake. It is being developed by a Shanghai Shimao and InterContinental Hotels, the complex is named "InterContinental Shimao Shanghai Wonderland".
سيتم بناء أول فندق خمس نجوم تحت الارض في الصين وسيكون ملتصقاً بجدار حفرة عمقها 100 متر بالقرب من تل شيشان، في منطقة سونغ جيانغ في شانغهاى. وإذا تم الانتهاء منه فسيحتوي هذا المنتجع الفخم على 16 طابقا داخل الحفرة و 3 طوابق فوقها. وسيحوي حوالي 380 غرفة ومرافق للمؤتمرات ومطاعم تحت الماء ومقاهي ومرافق رياضية ونوادي صحية وغي ذلك. وسيتم بناء ستارة زجاجية ارتفاعها 60 مترا تشبه الشلال على واجهة المنتجع الرئيسية. وآخر 20 مترا في الأسفل ستملأ بمياه الأمطار مشكلة بحيرة. وتقوم بتطوير هذا المشروع شركة شيماو شنغهاي وفنادق الانتركونتيننتال، وقد أطلق عليه "انتركونتيننتال شيماو شنغهاي - بلاد العجائب".
The pit has served as a quarry since 1950s, and it has been abandoned since the year 2000. Subsequently, the surrounding land was purchased by Shimao in order to build a large-scale theme park "Shimao Shanghai Wonderland". The underground hotel will be part of the theme-park complex. The surrounding areas are planned to host activities such as rock climbing and bungee jumping. The company is investing about US$555 million on this project. This stunning concept is generated by a British engineering firm Atkins. It's scheduled to open in the late 2014 or early 2015. By that time, Shanghai's Disneyland will be there as well. So there'll be three major theme parks in Shanghai — World Joyland, Shanghai's Disneyland and Shimao Shanghai Wonderland.
وقد كانت هذه الحفرة محجراً منذ خمسينات القرن الماضي، ولقد توقف العمل فيه منذ عام 2000. فاشترته مع الأراضي المحيطة به شركة شيما بهدف بناء ملاهي ضخمة "شيماو شنغهاي بلاد العجائب" ومن المخطط الإستفادة من المناطق المحيطة في فعاليات مثل تسلق الصخور والقفز بالحبال. وتستثمر الشركة حوالي 555 مليون دولار في هذا المشروع. وقد قامت شركة أتكينز الهندسية البريطانية بتطوير هذه الفكرة المذهلة. ومن المقرر إفتتاحه في أواخر 2014 أو أوائل عام 2015. بحلول ذلك الوقت سوف ينتهي إنشاء ديزني لاند في شنغهاي. وبهذا ستكون هناك ثلاثة ملاهي كبرى في شنغهاي – عالم جويلاند وديزني لاند شنغهاي وشيماو شنغهاي بلاد العجائب.
