Ahmed Yaseen is a young creative Palestinian artist who studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts at An-Najah National University in Nablus. He converts thorny cactus, into artistic paintings that tell the suffering of Palestinians and their steadfastness against the oppressive Israeli practices in the besieged apartheid West Bank and Gaza strip of Palestine.

الفنان أحمد ياسين شاب فلسطيني مبدع يدرس في كلية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة النجاح الوطنية في نابلس، يقوم بتحويل الصبار رغم أشواكه إلى لوحات فنية تحكي معاناة الفلسطينيين وصبرهم وصمودهم أمام الممارسات الإسرائيلية القمعية في الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة من فلسطين المحاصرتين والمعزولتين.

For Palestinians, cactus symbolize patience, steadfastness, resistance and thorns symbolize agony, particularly after the wake of the Nakba, or "catastrophe" in 1948; when most of them were forced out of their lands and homes upon establishing the racist State of Israel. It is a plant that has the ability to adapt and resist surrounding conditions and live long.

بالنسبة للفلسطينيين يرمز الصبار إلى الصبر والصمود والمقاومة وأشواكه ترمز إلى المعاناة، وخاصة بعد أن أفاق الفلسطينيون على النكبة في عام 1948 وتم تهجير أغلبيتهم قسرا من أراضيهم وبيوتهم عند قيام دولة اسرائيل العنصرية. فالصبار نبات لديه القدرة على التكيف ومقاومة الظروف المحيطة ويعيش سنوات طويلة.

The creative works of artist Ahmad Yaseen are not restricted to engraved and painted cactus, he also create sarcastic artistic installations expressing the daily agony of Palestinians, as well as portrait and landscape paintings.

لا تقتصر أعمال الفنان المبدع أحمد ياسين على نحت وتلوين الصبار وإنما يقوم بخلق تشكيلات فنية ساخرة تعبر عن مآسي الفلسطنينن اليومية وكذلك يرسم لوحات لأفراد ومناظر طبيعية.
