Initial I thought that this photo is fake, but I found out that it is real and can be seen at the ancient Egyptian city of Abydos in the Temple of Seti I carved on over an arch. This raised my curiosity and led me to an intriguing documentary produced by the Historical Channel TV, named "Ancient Discoveries: Ancient Cars and Planes" produced in 2007. In the documentary scientists at Liverpool university have created scaled-up models of an ancient Egyptian wooden bird, discovered in Saqqara area tomb, and they proved that it is totally aerodynamic and could have flown over the pyramids taking advantage of hot ascending air to gain altitude. On the other side two German aeronautical engineers, Algund Eenboom and Peter Belting created a scaled-up plane out of a gold and brass Mayan bird artifacts and flown it remotely to prove that ancient Mayans have invented airplanes. When I saw both planes I asked myself, but how did ancient people give the so-called-planes the driving power, i.e. an engine? A question that I doubt anyone can answer! | في هذا الفيلم الوثائقي قام علماء من جامعة ليفربول بصنع نسخة مكبرة من تمثال طير خشبي فرعوني صغير يطلق عليه اسم طير سقارة لأنه اكتشف في مقبرة فرعونية في سقارة، وأثبتوا أنه ديناميكي تماما، وأنه يمكن أن يكون قد حلق فوق الأهرامات بالإستفادة من الهواء الساخن المتعالي للارتفاع إلى الأعلى. وفي الجانب الآخر قام مهندسا طيران ألمانيان اسمهما آلغوند إينبوم و بيتر بيلتنغ بصنع نموذج طائرة مكبرة عن طير مزخرف من الذهب والنحاس من أشغال شعب المايا وقاموا بتطييره في الجو عن بُعد لإثبات أن شعب المايا القديم قد يكون اخترع الطائرات. وعندما رأيت كلا الطائرتين تساءلت، ولكن كيف استطاع هؤلاء القدماء إعطاء قوة دافعة لتلك الطائرات أعني محرك؟ سؤال أشك في أن يستطيع أحد الإجابة عليه! |
