Chinese don't just excel in imitations of gadgets and small things, but they do well in mega structures. They have built their own version of Dubai, nicknamed Oriental Dubai! It is the Reclusive Life Phoenix Island, which features a cluster of sail-shaped skyscrapers constructed on a man-made island off the western coast of Sanya surrounded by tropical sea. A "7 star" hotel shaped as a wave-lapped oval is planned to be constructed on the island, which the provincial tourism authority proclaims as a "fierce competitor" for the title of "eighth wonder of the modern world".
