Dragonfly Tower in New York, Vertical Farmsبرج اليعسوب في نيويورك، مزارع عامودية

Belgian firm Vincent Callebaut architectures have designed a concept vertical farm based on the wings of a dragonfly. Located along the east river at the south edge of Roosevelt island in New York city. The tower is a true living organism being self sufficient in water, energy and bio fertilizing. Spanning 132 floors and 600 vertical meters, the dragonfly can accommodate 28 different agricultural fields for the production of fruit, vegetables, grains, meat and dairy. There is housing, work places, offices, research laboratories, leisure spaces, gardens, orchards, meadows, rice fields, farms and suspended fields.

صممت شركة معمارية بلجيكية تدعى فنسنت كاليبو فكرة مزرعة عمودية معتمدة على شكل أجنحة حشرة اليعسوب. لكي تبنى على طول النهر الشرقي الواقع على حافة جنوب جزيرة روزفلت في مدينة نيويورك . وهذا البرج هو كائن حي حقيقي لكونه مكتفياً ذاتيا في التسميد الطبيعي والمياه والطاقة. وترتفع 132 طابقاً بعلو 600 متر عامودياً، ويمكنها استيعاب 28 حقلاً زراعياً مختلفاً لإنتاج الفواكه والخضروات واللحوم والحبوب ومنتجات الألبان وتحتوي سكناً وأماكن عمل ومكاتب ومختبرات بحثية، ومساحات ترفيهية وحدائق وبساتين ومروج وحقول أرز ومزارع وحقول معلقة.
