كل هذا في وادي أنتيلوب (أو وادي الظباء) الضيق الذي يقع في إقليم نافاجو شبه المستقل لسكان أمريكا الأصليين بولاية أريزونا الأمريكية.

Antelope Canyon was formed by erosion of sandstone, due to flash floods and other climatic processes. Rainwater, especially during monsoon season, runs into the extensive basin above the canyon slots, picking up speed and carries sand as it rushes into the narrow passageways.

وقد تشكل وادي الظباء نتيجة تآكل الحجر الرملي بسبب السيول الجارفة وعوامل مناخية أخرى. فمياه الأمطار، وخصوصا خلال الأمطار الموسمية، تجري في الحوض الواسع الموجود فوق فتحات شروخ الوادي فتزيد سرعتها وتحمل معها الرمال عند اندفاعها في الممرات الضيقة.
