Scandinavian Fjords (pronounced fiord) are long, narrow inlets with steep sides or cliffs, carved by glacial abrasive activities creating valleys (sometimes deeper than 1300 meters) in the surrounding bedrock filled with sea water. They are found in Norway, Iceland, and Greenland. The most visited are the magnificent Norwegian fjords; Sognefjord, Lysefjord and Geirangerfjord.

المضايق الاسكندنافية (وتسمى فيورد) هي مضائق طويلة ذات مداخل ضيقة وجوانب حادة الانحدار، نحتتها في الجبال الصخرية أنشطة تمدد الجليد فخلقت ودياناً (يصل عمقها أحيانا أكثر من 1300 متر) وهي ممتلئة بمياه البحر. وهي موجودة في النرويج وأيسلندا وجرينلاند. وأكثرها زيارة هي المضايق النرويجية الرائعة؛ مضيق سوجنه ومضيق لايسه ومضيق جيرانجير.

Hiking and kayaking provides unique and memorable experience, especially at the end of spring when the snow is thawing and the waterfalls are all coming out of the clouds! There are also luxurious cruises passing through the fjords. In 2005, Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord were included in Unesco's World Heritage list.

استكشاف المضايق سيراً في الأعالي والتجديف في مياهها هو تجربة فريدة لا تنسى، خاصة في نهاية فصل الربيع عندما يذوب الثلج وتنساب الشلالات من الغيوم! وهناك أيضا الرحلات البحرية الفاخرة التي تمر عبر المضايق. في عام 2005 أدرج مضيقي جيرانجير ونيروي في قائمة اليونسكو للتراث العالمي.
