Duane Hanson (1925–1996) is one of the most influential American sculptors of the 20th century committed to Realism. Since the early 1970's Duane has been making startlingly lifelike sculptures of middle America. These sculptures, are made of fiberglass (polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass), painted to make the revealed skin look realistic, with veins and blemishes. Hanson then clothed the figures with garments from second-hand clothing stores and theatrically arranged the action.

دوان هانسون (1925-1996) هو واحد من أكثر النحاتين الأمريكين تأثيرا والتزاماً بالواقعية في القرن العشرين. وقد قام منذ بدايات السبعينات بصنع تماثيل مذهلة نابضة بالحياة عن الطبقة الوسطى في أمريكا. ويصنع دوان هذه التماثيل من الألياف الزجاجية (راتنجات البوليستر المعززة بالألياف الزجاجية)، وكان يقوم برسم الجلد بإظهار الأوردة والعيوب بشكل واقعي جداً. ثم يقوم بإلباسها ثيابا يأتي بها من متاجر الملابس المستعملة ويضع التماثيل باسلوب مسرحي كأنها في أماكنها الطبيعية.
