Dale Chihuly (born September 20, 1941) is an American glass sculptor. He is world renowned artist recognized internationally for his use of color, fluid glass forms and large-scale installations.
دايل تشيهولي (من مواليد 20 سبتمبر-أيلول 1941) نحات الزجاج الاميركي، فنان عالمي مشهور ومعروف دوليا باستخدامه الألوان وتشكيل الزجاج السائل لعمل مجسماته الضخمة.
Dale Chihuly received his Master of Science in sculpture from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, In 1967. Later he studied glass in Venice. In 1976, he had a head-on car accident that severely cut his face and blinded him in his left eye. After recovering, he continued to blow glass until he dislocated his shoulder in 1979. No longer able to hold the glass and the blowing pipe, he hired others to do the work for him. His work is included in over two hundred museum collections worldwide and many botanical gardens smoothly mixed with nature. He has been the recipient of many awards, including seven honorary doctorates.
حصل دايل على الماجستير في العلوم في مجال فن النحت من جامعة ويسكونسن ماديسون، في عام 1967. ودرس في وقت لاحق فنون الزجاج في البندقية. وفي عام 1976 تعرض لحادث سيارة أدى إلى جروح في وجهه وعمى عينه اليسرى. واصل بعد تعافيه نفخ الزجاج حتى اصيب بخلع في كتفه في عام 1979. فلم يعد قادراً على الاستمرار في حمل الزجاج وأنبوب النفخ فقام باستئجار من يقوم له بهذا العمل. وتوجد أعماله في أكثر من 200 متحف في جميع أنحاء العالم وفي العديد من حدائق النباتات منسجمة جداً مع الطبيعة. وقد حصل على العديد من الجوائز من بينها سبعة شهادات دكتوراة فخرية.
