A 9-starred town called Palmanova, built in 1593 as a fortress to defend the eastern approaches of the Venetian Republic. It is located in northeastern Italy, close to the border with Slovenia. The fortress was built using all the latest military innovations of the 16th century. In between the points of the star, ramparts protruded so that the points could defend each other. A moat surrounded the town, and three large, guarded gates allowed entry.
بلدة على شكل نجمة تساعية (9 رؤوس) بنيت عام 1593كحصن للدفاع عن الواجهة الشرقية لجمهورية البندقية، تدعى بالمانوفا وتقع شمال شرق ايطاليا على مقربة من الحدود مع سلوفينيا. وكانت وقتها تعتبر من أحدث الابتكارات العسكرية. وتصميمها النجمي ذو التسعة رؤوس يسمح لرؤوس الحصن الجاحظة بالدفاع عن بعضها البعض. ويحيط بالبلدة خندق ولها ثلاث بوابات كبيرة ذات حراسة مشددة.
