Nantes, where the French novelist Joules Verne was born, is an isle in the Loire river, France. It the home of "The Machines of the Isle" (in French: Les Machines de l'île). Which are unprecedented mechanical, touristic and cultural wonders located at the former shipyards of Nantes Isle in the middle of the Loire river, France. The wonders are a blend of Jules Verne's world of inventions, Leonardo da Vinci's mechanical universe, and the industrial history of Nantes.

نانت هي جزيرة وسط نهر اللوار في فرنسا ولد فيها الروائي الفرنسي جول فيرن. وهي موطن "آلات الجزيرة" (بالفرنسية Les Machines de l'île) . وهي عجائب ميكانيكية وسياحية وثقافية لم يسبق لها مثيل موجودة في موقع أحواض بناء السفن السابقة في جزيرة نانت في وسط نهر اللوار بفرنسا. وهذه العجائب هي مزيج من عالم جول فيرن للاختراعات والكون الميكانيكية لليوناردو دا فينشي والتاريخ الصناعي لنانت.

The Great Elephant is the biggest attraction in Nantes, but not the only one. 50 passengers can embark the elephant for an amazing 30 minutes journey at a speed of 1-3km/hr. Inside, passengers can see the gears that move the elephant. On the back of the Elephant, it's like being on the 4th floor of a moving house. It is 12 m high, 8 m wide and 21 m long weighing 48.4 tons, with 450HP motor. Motion is set by 60 cylinders, of which 44 are hydraulic, 6 are pneumatic and 10 are gas.

وأكثر العجائب جذباً في نانت هو الفيل العظيم، ولكنه ليس الوحيد. ويمكن لـ 50 راكبا الصعود على الفيل في رحلة مذهلة مدتها 30 دقيقة وبسرعة 1-3 كلم بالساعة. وفي الداخل يتمكن الركاب من رؤية التروس التي تحرك الفيل. الركوب على ظهر الفيل يماثل الوقوف في الطابق الرابع لبناية متحركة. فارتفاع الفيل 12 مترا وعرضه 8 مترا وطوله 21 مترا ووزنه 48.4 طن وله محرك 450 حصان. وتتم حركته بواسطة 60 اسطوانات منها 44 هيدروليكية و 6 هوائية و 10 غازية.
