Why did a woman in California pay an artist $5,000 to paint her cat to look like a pig? What made a New York stockbroker spend even more than that to have the image of Charlie Chaplin painted on his cat's posterior?

لماذا دفعت امرأة من ولاية كاليفورنيا لفنان 5000 دولار لتلوين قطتها لتبدو وكأنها خنزير؟ وما الذي دعا غنياً من سوق المال في نيويورك أن ينفق أكثر من ذلك لرسم صورة تشارلي شابلن على قفا قطه؟

Apart from being an amusement for the idle rich, painting cats seemingly is part of an art movement that claims to promote a better understanding of the cats in our lives. But do cats really enjoyed the long hours of painting on their fur, and can they recognize their-selves in a mirror after painting?! New Zealand author Burton Silver and illustrator Heather Busch published a comedy lavishly illustrated book "Why Paint Cats" on turning cats into canvas. Some cat painting are very simple with a unique color, others are very complex and required a true artist.

بصرف النظر عن أنه نوع من التسلية للأغنياء الزهقانين، فإن جعل القطط لوحات هو، على ما يبدو، جزء من حركة تتبنى هدف تعزيز فهم أفضل للقطط في حياتنا. ولكن هل حقا تستمتع القطط بالساعات الطويلة من الرسم على فرائها، وهل تستطيع القطط معرفة أنفسها في المرأة بعد تلوينها؟! قام النيوزلاندي بيرتون سيلفر والرسام هيذر بوش بتأليف كتاب كوميدي زاخر بالتوضيحات باسم "لماذا تلوين القطط" يشرح تحويل القطط إلى لوحات رسم. بعض اللوحات القططية بسيطة جدا وبلون واحد، وبعضها الآخر معقد جداً ويحتاج إلى فنان حقيقي.
