Not a Japanese doll, but a cosplayer! إنها ليست لعبة يابانية ولكنها منتحلة كرتونية!ـ
I have just discovered that Japanese, Chinese and Koreans, are generally obsessed by cartoon characters. Many young people, mostly pretty girls, impersonate cartoon characters, hence a new term was coined for them: 'costume player' or for short 'Cosplayers'.
اكتشفت أن اليابانين والصينين وكوريين مهوسون بشكل عام بشخصيات الرسوم الكرتونية المتحركة. فكثير من شبابهم، وبالأخص الفتيات الجميلات، يهوون انتحال الشخصيات الكرتونية. ومن هنا اخترع مصطلح جديد لتسميتهم 'لاعبي الأزياء' أو اختصاراً بالإنكليزية Cosplayers وأفضل أنا أن أسميهم المنتحلون.
Cosplay require hair styling, cosmetics, costumes, and in some cases plastic surgeries. Favorite sources include manga and anime, comic books, video games and films. The popularity of cosplay has grown, specially that many conventions have cosplay contests.
Japan holds the largest semi-annual convention during summer and winter that attract thousands of cosplayers. The largest cosplay events outside Japan are the annual San Diego Comic-Con; the London MCM Expo; and Japan Expo in Paris. Some other international events include: European Cosplay Gathering, Euro Cosplay, Nordic Cosplay Championship.

وانتحال الشخصيات الكرتونية يحتاج إلى تصفيف الشعر ومستحضرات التجميل وأزياء خاصة وفي بعض الحالات عمليات تجميل. والمصادر المفضلة لدى المنتحلين تشمل المانجا وأنيمي والكتب المصورة وألعاب الفيديو والأفلام. وقد نمت شعبية الانتحال بحيث تقوم العديد من المهرجانات بتنظيم مسابقات خاصة بهم.
يقام اليابان مؤتمر كبير نصف سنوي في الصيف و في الشتاء يجذب آلافاً من منتحلي الشخصيات الكرتونية. وأكبر الفعاليات للمنتحلين خارج اليابان تقام سنوياً في سان دييغو؛ وكذلك في معرض إم سي إم في لندن؛ وفي معرض اليابان في باريس. وهناك أيضاً بعض الفعاليات الدولية الأخرى، منها: التجمع منتحلي أوروبا ومنتحلي اليورو، وبطولة منتحلي شمال أوروبا.
