The fashion designer Iris van Herpen exhibited her first collection dresses that are not made by tailoring and sewing, but created on a 3D printer. Is this an announcement of the end of shopping age at fashion shops and the start of printing age of your own clothes?

قامت مصممة الأزياء الهولندية أيريس فان هيربين بعرض أول مجموعة فساتين بدون تفصيل وخياطة وإنما مصنوعة بطابعة ثلاثية الأبعاد. فهل هذا إيذان بنهاية عصر تسوق الملابس من محلات الأزياء وبدء عصر طباعة ملابسك بنفسك؟

3D printers connected to computers have created these three-dimensional dresses. Instead of paper, these printers form the three-dimensional objects out of a plastic, polymer, plaster and other materials by composing the product layer by layer. To simplify the idea, if someone uses a glue gun and lays one glue line on top of another glue line he can make a 3D model. This is almost what 3D printers do. So do not be surprised if one day you will be able to print your own clothes based on your own design and immediately wear it.

قامت طابعات موصولة بحاسبات بتكوين هذه الفساتين بشكل ثلاثي الأبعاد. فبدلاً من الورق تقوم هذه الطابعات بتشكيل الأجسام ثلاثية الأبعاد باستخدام مواد بلاستيكية أو بوليمر او جص أو مواد أخرى مسيلة في تكوين المنتج طبقة فوق طبقة. ولتبسيط الفكرة إذا استخدم شخص مسدس الغراء وقام بتنقيط نقطة فوق نقطة فإنه يستطيع عمل مجسم. وهذا تقريباً ما تقوم به الطابعات ثلاثية الأبعاد. لذلك لا تستغرب إن جاء زمن تقوم بطبع ملابسك بنفسك وفق تصميماتك الخاصة ثم ترتديها رأساً.
