We have known bullfighting, but have you ever heard of camel fighting?

نعرف مصارعة الثيران، ولكن هم سمعتم عن مصارعة الجمال؟

Here the fight is not between a raging camel and a matador like it is in bullfighting. It is between two male camels wrestling infront of the crowding fans, typically in response to winning a female camel that heats the fight. It is a sport most common in the Aegean region of Turkey and some regions of near east Asia.

هذه المصارعة لا تكون بين جمل ثائر والماتدور المصارع كما هي الحال في مصارعة الثيران. إنما بين جملين ذكرين هائجين أمام جماهير المشجعين يتصارعان عادة من أجل ناقة لتزيد من حرارة الصراع بينهما. وهي رياضة أكثر شيوعا في مناطق بحر ايجه في تركيا وفي بعض مناطق الشرق الأدنى من آسيا.

The Qiantang River tide is the world's largest and most famous tidal bore.

The soaring tide of the Qiantang River in eastern China is a spectacular annual event that only millions of people from both home and abroad flock there to watch the magnificent tide on the eighteenth day of the eighth lunar month (also around the Mid-Autumn Day). When the surging tide comes, the water can rise up to a height of 10 meters and travels at up to 40 km per hour. The noise it generates sounds like thunder. The custom of watching the bore tide has happened for more than 2000 years.

المد الهادر لنهر تشيانتانغ بشرق الصين هو حدث سنوي خرافي فملايين الناس من داخل البلاد وخارجها يتزاحمون هناك لمشاهدة المد والجزر الرهيب في يوم 18 من الشهر القمري الثامن (أيضا حوالي عيد منتصف الخريف) . وعندما يزحف المد الهادر يصل ارتفاع المياه إلى 10 أمتار وسرعة قد تصل الى 40 كيلومترا في الساعة ويصدر هديراً أشبه بالرعد. وتعود عادة مراقبة أحداث هذا المد السنوي الهادر لاكثر من 2000 سنة.

I know that it is hard to believe such news. But it is true!

In South Africa an 8-year-old school boy, named Sanele Masilela, married mum-of-five Helen Shabangu, a 61-year-old woman, because his dying grandfather requested him to do so. After his death the family was fearing a supernatural punishment from boy's grandfather, so they arranged the wedding. The wedding ceremonies were attended by 100 people, including relatives of both bride and groom including the women children and grandchildren. Arab News and many other news agents published the story including The Sun.
